sea-turtle-inc-logoSea Turtle, Inc is proud to present the 5th annual YappoPalooza on beautiful South Padre Island, Texas. This family oriented festival raises awareness of sea turtle conservation efforts, encourages conservation volunteerism and raises critically needed funds for proven recovery projects. The South Padre Island Convention Center (Directions) will host two days of fun for the family, beginning with the Ace Pepper band on Friday evening followed by a special performance by comedian Raymond Orta  and capped off with the distinct South Texas country sounds of Costello. Come listen to great classic rock, blues and funk and check out our eclectic silent auction items. The day long festival on Saturday will feature arts and crafts vendors, live music, shrimp plates, silent auction, exhibits and demonstrations, children’s activities and more. Beer and wine will be available Friday night, while Saturdays event features shrimp plates and cold drinks, including water, soft drinks, beer and wine. Have some fun, experience the beautiful sunrises over the Gulf and sunsets over the Laguna Madre and make a difference.

Come kick-off the summer and help us honor the memory of Jeffrey “Yappo” Boruff, one of the dedicated volunteers that made a real difference working side-by-side with the professionals at the epicenter of the Bi-national Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle Project in Rancho Nuevo, Mexico.

The Bi-national project represents one of the most successful endangered species recovery efforts ever undertaken.  This extraordinary four-decade effort has brought the turtles back from the brink of extinction through the dedicated work of both professionals and volunteers.  Funding for sea turtle projects is more limited than ever, and all revenues derived from the festival will be used on both sides of the border to continue this and other critically important sea turtle restoration work. Be part of the success and support the 5th Annual YappoPalooza
